CHILDREN

A single child four years old or younger may ride free when accompanied by a farepaying adult. Other children (17 years old and younger) pay the children's fare when accompanied by a farepaying adult. Monthly and 10-Ride tickets are not sold half-fare to children. One ride of a 10-Ride Ticket will be accepted for two passengers 17 years old or younger when accompanied by a farepaying adult.

DISABLED PASSENGERS AND SENIOR CITIZENS

Disabled passengers and patrons aged 65 or older who present a Regional Transit Connection Discount Card, Medicare Card or Department of Motor Vehicle Disabled Placard Identification Card may ride for a discounted fare. Conductors may ask to see a valid ID to verify age or disability. An attendant accompanying a disabled patron also is eligible for this discount when indicated on the RTC Discount Card.  To receive Information on the Regional Transit Connection Discount Card Program, please see the Metropolitan Transportation Commission's Web site.  RTC Discount Card applications are available at local transit agencies.

Conductors also can accept photo ID's such as California Drivers License, California Identification Card, U.S. Passport, etc. as proof of Senior Discount Fare eligibility.

At designated stations, wheelchair users board the second car from the north, marked with the blue international disabled symbol. The platform boarding position is marked with the same symbol. Each train can accommodate only two wheelchairs. Call Caltrain at 1.800.660.4287 for its accessibility brochure or for more information.

Each station also will have a Boarding Assistance Area for persons with disabilities. Refer to Caltrain For People With Disabilities, brochure for details.

Service animals, such as guide dogs, may accompany persons with disabilities on Caltrain if the animals are on a lead that does not interfere with passengers and the animal is under the constant supervision and control of the owner. The animal may not block the aisle. If an animal misbehaves, the passenger will be asked to remove the animal from the train. No other animals are permitted.
