If you have purchased an 8-ride Ticket or if you have a complimentary ticket, you
must validate your ticket before boarding the train. Most validators (see photo at
right) are located next to a TVM.
To validate a ticket, insert the ticket as far as it will go and wait for it to be
stamped. It will be time stamped four hours from when you validate it. Each half of the 8-ride Ticket has four rides, with two validation spaces on the front and back of each side of each half of the ticket. Your trip
must be completed by the end of the four-hour time period.
8-ride tickets work best if they are kept in good condition, i.e. not tattered or crinkled. If a validator is not working, passengers must immediately notify
a conductor upon boarding the train.
If you board the train with a non-validated 8-ride or complimentary ticket, you will
be subject to citation.
