Overnight Track Work in Sunnyvale and Mountain View

Caltrain crews will work overnight tonight and Thursday, Sept. 19 along the rail corridor between Mary Avenue in Mountain View and Sunnyvale Avenue in Sunnyvale.

The crews will perform needed maintenance work to improve rail safety and ride quality by repairing jointed rail in several locations along the right of way.

Periodically, the track needs to be raised as regular use by Caltrain and freight trains compresses the rail, causing low spots on the tracks.

Crews will attempt to minimize noise impacts to neighbors in the area, but some construction noise can be expected as the result of track equipment used to make rail repairs.
