Caltrain to Add Special Service for Fourth of July
Caltrain will operate on a
Sunday schedule
(PDF, 26.4 KB) on the Fourth of July but will add extra trains to get
people home from the fireworks show in San Francisco.
Thirty trains will operate between San Francisco and the San Jose Diridon Station for
the Monday holiday.
In addition to Caltrain’s scheduled service, three post-fireworks trains will depart the
San Francisco terminal at Fourth and King streets at 11 p.m., 11:30 p.m. and 12:15 a.m.,
making all local stops to San Jose.
Shuttle bus service connects the Tamien and San Jose Diridon stations for trains
departing either San Francisco or San Jose until 8 p.m.
The San Francisco Giants play the Cincinnati Reds at 1:05 p.m. on the Fourth of July,
and Caltrain will operate its regular
weekend service to get fans to and from the
game.
Northbound special trains will leave San Jose Diridon at 9:35 a.m. and at 10:35 a.m. A
southbound express train to San Carlos will depart the San Francisco station
approximately 15 minutes after the last out or when full, making all local stops after
San Carlos to San Jose Diridon.
A second train will leave 25 minutes after the game or when full and serve all local
stops to San Jose.
Caltrain is a Proof-of-Payment system and valid fare media must be purchased before
boarding the train. Tickets can be purchased at vending machines at all stations or
from the station agents at the San Francisco or San Jose stations.
