Caltrain to Serve Green Day Concert Sept. 24
Bay Area residents heading to Green Day’s concert at SBC Park on Sept. 24, can avoid
looking like American idiots by taking Caltrain to San Francisco.
In addition to its
regular Saturday service,
the rail agency will provide special service for fans going to see the local band’s home
stand.
A special train will leave the San Jose
Diridon station at 5:30 p.m. and arrive in San Francisco at 7:06 p.m. Extra capacity
will be available on train #441, which is scheduled to arrive in San Francisco at 6:36
p.m.
Two extra trains will run after the concert. One train will depart 15 minutes, or when
full, after the concert and express to San Carlos before making all local weekend stops.
The second train will leave 25 minutes, or when full, after the show and make all local
weekend stops.
Concert-goers planning to arrive via Caltrain need to purchase their tickets before
boarding the train. Caltrain tickets can be purchased from ticket vending machines
located at all stations.
