Catch a Break with Caltrain to Sharks Games at the Tank
Score a goal by taking Caltrain to all Sharks home games
at HP Pavilion, rather than driving or getting stuck in traffic.
The Sharks’ preseason home opener is against the Vancouver
Canucks on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 7:30 p.m.
With its San Jose terminal located across the street from
the hockey arena, Caltrain service
makes it easy to avoid the hassle and expense of driving and parking.
A number of trains arrive from San Francisco and the Peninsula in
time for the face-off. The last weekday and Saturday
northbound train departs the San Jose station at 10:30 p.m.
or 15 minutes after the game ends, whichever is later. The
train makes all regular local stops. Trains stop at the
Broadway and Atherton stations on weekends only.
Caltrain is a Proof of Purchase system and requires
passengers to purchase tickets before boarding.
Ticket options include: One-way, Day Pass, or 10-ride
tickets. Passengers are required to validate all 10-ride
tickets before boarding. Monthly Pass holders ride free
through all zones on weekends.
Information about Caltrain hockey service is available in
a new brochure, which will soon be onboard trains. Riders
also can request a copy by calling Caltrain’s Customer
Service Center at 1.800.660.4287.
