Caltrain Homerun Line-Up Set For 2006 Baseball Season
Caltrain is ready to roll for the 2006 baseball season, including special
trains to get fans home from AT&T Park after evening and weekend games.
Caltrain will step up to the plate for San Francisco Giants’ exhibition
games March 30 and 31, as well as the Giants’ home opener against
the Atlanta Braves on April 6.
Caltrain offers Peninsula fans a wide array of regular weekday
and weekend trains to get to the ballpark, located only two blocks
from the railroad’s terminal at Fourth and King streets. An extra
northbound train fills out the roster for day and evening games on
weekends, as well as day games on weekdays.
For the return trip, two special trains depart San Francisco
after evening and weekend games. An express train to San
Carlos leaves approximately 15 minutes after the last out, or
when full, and then makes all locals stops after San Carlos to
San Jose Diridon station.
The second train departs San Francisco 25 minutes after the game
or when full and serves all local stops to San Jose Diridon. On
nights with post-game fireworks shows, the express and local
trains depart approximately 15 and 25 minutes after the fireworks,
respectively, or when full.
A shuttle bus between the Tamien and San Jose Dirdion
stations runs on weekends only.
Caltrain reminds passengers that no tickets are sold on the train,
as Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system, and tickets should be
kept available for inspection by conductors. Tickets can be
purchased at vending machines at the stations or at the
San Francisco or San Jose ticket offices.
Caltrain also reminds passengers that alcoholic beverages
are prohibited on trains departing San Francisco beginning at 9 p.m.
Caltrain baseball service brochures are available on trains, can be viewed on the web
or can be downloaded as a PDF .
