Weekend Closure at Broadway for Caltrain construction

The railroad grade-crossing at Broadway in Burlingame will be closed each evening from approximately 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., from Friday through Monday, Feb. 15 - 18. During this time construction crews will install new concrete pads and replace worn rails, ties and ballast.

During the weekend construction, motorists and pedestrians will detour around the closure by using Oak Grove Avenue, California Drive or Carolan Avenue.

Impact to Weekend Train Service
There will be no delays in service due to the construction; however, from Friday evening through Sunday evening, all trains will operate in both directions on a single track in the construction area.

As a result, passengers waiting for both northbound and southbound trains at the Burlingame and San Mateo stations will board from the northbound platform. Announcements about this will be made by conductors on board trains and at stations.

Impact to Neighbors
Neighbors may hear construction noise from equipment. Portable light towers, powered by a diesel generator, will be used for night work as well. The contractor will control dust with a water truck. Construction crews will make efforts to work as quickly and quietly as possible to minimize any disturbance to neighbors.
