Broadway to Close for Caltrain Construction
The railroad grade-crossing at Broadway in Burlingame will be closed three nights from approximately 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. to allow construction crews to pave the road on either side of the tracks. During the closure Thursday, March 13 through Saturday, March 15, motorists and pedestrians will cross the tracks via Oak Grove Avenue, accessing it by either California Drive or Carolan Avenue.
Previous work at the crossing included installing new concrete pads and replacing worn rails, ties and ballast. This work will smooth out the roadway crossing for vehicles.
Impact to Neighbors
Neighbors may hear construction noise from equipment. Portable light towers, powered by a diesel generator, will be used for night work as well. The contractor will control dust with a water truck, as needed. Construction crews will work as quickly and quietly as possible to minimize any disturbance to neighbors.
