By Dan Lieberman, @LiebermanTweets Climate Change Grant:  The Rockefeller Foundation announced a $4.6 million grant in order to craft infrastructure solutions to the climate and seismic challenges faced by the San Francisco Bay Area. Working with Rebuild by Design, the grant is designed to use collaborative, design-driven problem-solving to help build resilience in cities across the world. Also partnering in this effort are the MTC, ABAG, BAAQMD and the BCDC. Treasure Island Flea:  This weekend, Treasure Island will be hosting the Treasure Island Flea event, bringing with it artists, collectors, designers, crafters and food trucks. With a Mardi Gras theme, this should be a lovely opportunity to grab some good grub, sip a hurricane, and see some cool stuff both artsy and crafty. Caltrain will put you just a mile away from the Transbay Terminal, where you can catch the Muni 25 to Treasure Island. MTC/TRB Future of the Highway: The Metropolitan Transportation Commission & the Transportation Research Board invites Bay Area residents to participate in their Study of the Future Interstate Highway System. The first meeting will be held this Thursday, February 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bay Area Metro Center at 375 Beal St. in San Francisco. The second meeting will take place on Friday, February 24, from 9 a.m. to noon, same location. TRB is holding similar events across the country to gather input on the needs of our interstate highway system. To RSVP, click here. VTA Comment Extension:  The Santa Clara VTA has provided two additional weeks to give comments on the environmental impact of Phase II of their BART extension through Downtown San Jose into Santa Clara. The period of time to discuss the Environmental Impact Report has been pushed out until March 6. If you wish to submit a comment, click here for more details.
