Major league soccer fans can kick off the regular season by taking Caltrain to PayPal Park to watch the San Jose Earthquakes against Real Salt Lake on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m. Caltrain can take fans to Santa Clara Station and from there they can board VTA line 60 straight to the park or take a short walk from the station.

Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system; tickets are not sold onboard trains but can be purchased at station ticket machines or via Caltrain mobile app. Day Passes purchased through the mobile app are valid on the day of purchase through the end of the service day.

Attendees traveling as a group can save money as part of Caltrain’s package of fare discounts, by ordering a Group Day Pass. Clipper START riders can ride for 50% off a standard fare. Youth Fares are also $1 one way or $2 for day passes, for passengers 18 and under.

Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased using the Caltrain mobile app or through ticket machines onsite. The mobile app can be used immediately after parking, as it requires a space number. Paid parking rules are enforced everyday including weekends and holidays.
