Fleet Week is back in the Bay, and Caltrain’s new electric fleet is flying back and forth along the corridor in order to get everyone to the festivities on the waterfront. Events begin Monday, Oct. 7, and will continue through Monday, Oct. 14. Air shows will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. over the weekend.
Caltrain will be running its regular service throughout the week, and is now running half-hourly weekend service.
Upon arrival at Caltrain’s San Francisco Station, riders can either walk or transfer to Muni’s 30-Stockton bus for a connection to the Marina Green, where most of the week’s festivities will take place.
San Francisco’s Fleet Week includes a parade of naval ships, tours of vessels, and, of course, aerial shows from the world-famous Blue Angels flight exhibition team.
Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system; tickets are not sold onboard trains but can be purchased at station ticket machines or via Caltrain mobile app. Day Passes purchased through the mobile app are valid on the day of purchase through the end of the service day. Attendees traveling as a group can save money as part of Caltrain’s package of fare discounts, by ordering a Group Day Pass. Clipper START riders can ride for 50% off a standard fare. Youth Fares are also $1 one way or $2 day passes for passengers 18 and under.
Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased using the Caltrain mobile app or through ticket machines onsite. The mobile app can be used immediately after parking, as it requires a space number. Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day.
Caltrain reminds customers that open alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the trains beginning at 9 p.m. on special event days.
