NBA fans are descending on the Bay Area as All-Star Weekend prepares to kick off on Feb. 14-16. Whether you’ve got tickets to the big game at Chase Center or if you’re heading to other events in San Francisco, Caltrain is the all-star transit system you can count on to get you to tipoff.
The All-Star Game takes place on Sunday, Feb. 16, but there are events all weekend including the Rising Stars game on Friday, Feb. 14, NBA All-Star Saturday Night on Saturday, Feb. 15, and concerts all weekend long. Fans can take Caltrain to the San Francisco Station at 4th and King Streets, where they can walk less than a mile to Chase Center or transfer to Muni Light Rail which is free with a Warriors ticket. Riders are encouraged to check the schedule for service to and from the arena to ensure they are at the platform with a paid ticket before trains arrive and depart.
Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system; tickets are not sold onboard trains but can be purchased at station ticket machines or via Caltrain mobile app. Day Passes purchased through the mobile app are valid on the day of purchase through the end of the service day. Attendees traveling as a group can save money as part of Caltrain’s package of fare discounts, by ordering a Group Day Pass. Clipper START riders can ride for 50% off a standard fare. Youth Fares are also $1 one way or $2 day passes for passengers 18 and under.
Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased using the Caltrain mobile app or through ticket machines onsite. The mobile app can be used immediately after parking, as it requires a space number. Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day, including weekends and holidays.
Caltrain reminds customers that open alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the trains beginning at 9 p.m. on special event days and nights.

While onsite at the stations listed above, riders can tap the tile on the dashboard that corresponds to their location and earn a Check-In via a mobile device in Mixed Reality.
