The San Jose Sharks play their first home game of the season against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 7:30 p.m., and Caltrain remains the best way to get to the action at the SAP Center.
Caltrain’s weekday schedule, supported by the agency’s new electric fleet, offers abundant service that will arrive in San Jose in time for the game. The last northbound train of the evening departs San Jose Diridon Station at 11:30 p.m.
Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system; tickets are not sold onboard trains but can be purchased at station ticket machines or via Caltrain mobile app. Day Passes purchased through the mobile app are valid on the day of purchase through the end of the service day. Attendees traveling as a group can save money as part of Caltrain’s package of fare discounts, by ordering a Group Day Pass. Clipper START riders can ride for 50% off a standard fare. Youth Fares are also $1 one way or $2 day passes for passengers 18 and under.
Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased using the Caltrain mobile app or through ticket machines onsite. The mobile app can be used immediately after parking, as it requires a space number. Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day.
Caltrain reminds customers that open alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the trains beginning at 9 p.m. on special event days.
