On Monday, January 9, Caltrain will host a virtual community meeting about the Diridon Plaza Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) project, for which the agency is currently seeking city planning approval. The project address is 33-91 S. Montgomery Street, and the site is currently used as surface parking lots.
The proposed Diridon Plaza TOD project includes two commercial buildings, a large central plaza directly adjacent to Diridon Station and the future Diridon BART station. It will include 1.2 million square feet of commercial space, including office space on the upper floors and restaurant, retail and other active uses on the ground floor. The project includes underground vehicle parking and onsite bike parking. The proposal follows the guidelines and standards set forth in the city of San Jose’s recently adopted Diridon Station Area Plan. The development will also provide approximately $12 million in fees towards affordable housing.
