Caltrain Provides Service to 49ers vs. Packers

This Sunday, September 26, the San Francisco 49ers kick off against the Green Bay Packers at 5:20 p.m., and Caltrain, in partnership with BART and VTA, is still the best choice for fans heading to Santa Clara’s Levi’s Stadium for the action.

Caltrain will be operating its regular weekend service along the Peninsula. Fans can transfer to Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) light-rail at the Mountain View Caltrain Station for continuing service to the stadium.

Following the game, Caltrain’s northbound trains will depart Mountain View once per hour. Trains will make all weekend local stops (including Broadway station) to San Francisco.

Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system. Tickets aren’t sold onboard trains but can be purchased at station ticket machines. In order to avoid the long lines that often accompany major events, passengers are encouraged to buy a Day Pass or use the Caltrain Mobile ticketing app. On game day, riders can also purchase a Joint Caltrain+VTA Day Pass on the mobile app or at a ticket machine that will cover you on Caltrain until the last train and on VTA local buses and light rail until 3 a.m.

Caltrain reminds fans to drink responsibly and that open alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the trains beginning at 9 p.m. on special event days and nights. Food and beverage aren’t allowed on VTA.

Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased using the Caltrain mobile app or through ticket machines onsite. Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day.
