SamTrans and Caltrain will operate Sunday schedules for the Fourth of July Holiday on Monday. During the evening of Fourth of July, Caltrain will offer extra service for the Independence Day fireworks in San Francisco.
Following the fireworks, the first special train will depart from the San Francisco station at 10:45 p.m. and express to Belmont, and then make all local weekend stops to the San Jose Diridon station. Two more special trains will leave at 11:15 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. and make all local weekend stops to San Jose Diridon. The last regularly-scheduled train will leave San Francisco at 9:15 p.m. That train will also make all local weekend stops to San Jose Diridon.
Caltrain would like to remind customers that open alcoholic beverages are prohibited on trains departing San Francisco, beginning at 9 p.m. on special event evenings.
During the day, train service will not operate south of the San Jose Diridon Caltrain Station, but a shuttle bus will be available between the Tamien and Diridon stations.
SamTrans will operate its regular Sunday service, which is less frequent than the weekday schedule and does not include routes that specifically serve schools or do not operate on a normal Sunday.
