Bay Area monster truck enthusiasts can crush their commute and take Caltrain this weekend, Saturday, January 6, and Sunday, January 7, starting at 5 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.
Caltrain will be providing an additional southbound train each day that will depart 15 minutes after the event or when full. The train will be expressing to Millbrae Station then making all local stops to San Jose Diridon Station. Riders are encouraged to check the schedule for service to and from Oracle Park to ensure they are at the platform with a paid ticket before trains arrive and depart.
Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system; tickets are not sold onboard trains but can be purchased at station ticket machines or via Caltrain mobile app. Day Passes purchased through the mobile app are valid on the day of purchase through the end of the service day. Attendees traveling as a group can save money as part of Caltrain’s package of fare discounts, by ordering a Group Day Pass. Clipper START riders can ride for 50% off a standard fare.
Parking at Caltrain stations costs $2.25 for the day thanks to a Caltrain promotion, and permits can be purchased using the Caltrain mobile app or through ticket machines onsite. The mobile app can be used immediately after parking, as it requires a space number. Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day.
Caltrain reminds customers that open alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the trains beginning at 9 p.m. on special event days.
