uakes By Tianna Nguy, Communications Intern The San Jose Earthquakes will offer a chartered Caltrain to their fans that will take them to and from Avaya Stadium on Saturday, July 29, for the team’s match against the Colorado Rapids that’s set to kick-off at 4:45 p.m.  Fans with a ticket to the match or wearing Quakes gear can ride the train free of charge. The Quakes are the first Bay Area sports team to offer a free Caltrain service to and from a home game, so take advantage of this opportunity to support your team and ride local transit. Starting in San Francisco, the local service, which is scheduled to make all stops, will arrive at the Santa Clara Station at 4:25 p.m. Music and Quakes giveaways will be present in the newly completed underpass, allowing fans to walk from the platform to Avaya Stadium via Brokaw Road. The northbound service at 7:47 p.m. will follow after the conclusion of the match. With the new underpass, the Earthquakes are constantly looking for new ways to make Avaya Stadium more accessible to the fans in San Francisco and along the Peninsula. Offering a chartered Caltrain encourages the fans to try this option making it a safer trip to and from the stadium avoiding congested traffic and parking. Make sure to check the special chartered Quakes Caltrain schedule to see when the train will come at your local train station. You can also purchase San Jose Earthquakes tickets which are on sale now. Caltrain reminds fans to drink responsibly and to remember that open containers of alcohol are not allowed on trains after 9 p.m. following special events. Parking at Caltrain stations costs $5.50 for the day, and permits can be purchased through ticket machines onsite. Paid parking rules are enforced throughout the day.
