Be among the first to board Caltrain’s new, modern electric trains as we unveil the future of our service. Explore the spacious interiors, learn about the exciting new features, and get a glimpse of what Caltrain will be like in 2024.

More than 4,000 attendees visited our previous EMU tours in San Jose and San Francisco and we are expecting a large turnout again in San Carlos.

If you haven’t already, reserve your time slot now:

RSVP Here

Upon arrival, have your Eventbrite ticket ready (mobile preferred).

This is much more than a tour! Plan to stick around after your train tour time to make the most of all the fun festivities we have planned for you.

To tour the new trains, simply show us your reservation and enter the line during the time shown on your ticket. The line will be located in the southwestern area of the station.

For those with 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. tickets, please note the line for the train will open at 10:50 a.m. immediately after the Welcome Ceremony which is being held in the parking lot.

Since the tour is at the San Carlos Caltrain Station, it’s the perfect opportunity to let us be your ride! Check out our Schedules page and celebrate National Train Day with a ride on Caltrain.

To welcome you to this third electric train tour, we’ll have a short program outside the station at 10:30 a.m. with the VIP speakers below. Train tours will begin immediately after the welcome ceremony at 10:50 a.m.

Don't miss out on the chance to take home some coveted collectors items including electric train mini-models, framed Caltrain posters, skateboard decks, tote bags, and more!

Raffles will take place at 12:00 p.m. a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the stage outside of the station and you must be present to win.

Free face painting, caricature art, photo booth fun and other awesome activities await. Fun for all ages!

Save room for lunch! Sample delicious bites from:

NOTE: Although the event itself is free, the food trucks are independent vendors and purchases are not covered by the event.

May 11 is National Train Day, making it the perfect opportunity to celebrate the 160th Anniversary of the San Francisco-San Jose rail corridor! Check out the community booths that are celebrating the legacy of rail on the Peninsula, and take advantage of our free giveaways.

Those with disabilities or mobility needs are welcome to tour the train early.
Please RSVP to the event and choose the 9:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. time slot.

If you are unable to make these times and need assistance boarding the train, please inform an event ambassador upon an arrival.

Ambassadors are identifiable by black shirts and lanyards that read "Ambassador".

Parking at the station will be extremely limited. If you are planning to drive to this event, please consider parking at the San Carlos Public Parking Lot off of Walnut Street which has free 2 hour parking and is a short walk to the station.

Free bicycle valet will be located at the southern end of San Carlos Station and is provided by Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition.  Please walk your bike in the event location.
